I know it may be seen as a generic choice, but Shakespeare is famous with good reason. His writings are entertaining, tragic, ironic, and at times hilariously comical. Reading Shakespeare’s works is something unregrettable, as well as challenging–but it’s a challenge worth undertaking.
I recommend reading Livy and Plutarch at least a little before or during your reading of Shakespeare, because Greek and Roman history and myth show up a lot.
